I am a little bit of a geek um I think in my earlier years I was definitely an introvert but I would need to state of him quite an extrovert now however I’m also quite independent too um I am rather strong-willed that makes it a little bit hard for hubby often however I I do love the marketplaces and I do enjoy finding out also so I’m a little bit of a reader I like numbers and I guess I’m a little bit of a late bloomer too I believe yeah yeah and to the point that you’ve pointed out that you’re an introvert and how I think I was an introverted introverted yeah of course you’re you’re now an extrovert but how did you how did you transition between that and you’re rather you’re put constantly out there putting yourself out there how did you transition in between that
sure I think one of the important things that people ask me or or get discussed a fair bit is that I seem to be a natural speaker that I’m quite proficient at public speaking but that certainly was not constantly the case and it was a found out skill for me so whether it was the um overcoming the nerves part or the part around body movement or perhaps called The Positive walk I believe all of those were um sort of taught skills so it absolutely wasn’t something that came naturally to me and I worked really difficult I think to obtain that skill of having the ability to speak um and I think one thing that made a huge impression on me for somebody who was late Blue Moon introvert and relative really shy in my more youthful years was that everyone can speak so to be able to reveal yourself in such a way that individuals understand I believe was quite crucial to me and um I think that’s why I worked at the school and ideally I am better at it now than I was when I started off I would definitely say so um and how did you can you tell us a little bit about how you started in um Finance like why did you choose a profession in financing and what was the the first point of contact in the financial world was there a parental influence or was this something that you were simply always thinking about I would love to say that you know I constantly understood what I was going to do which was Finance but that was not the case at all I can come back when I started working it wasn’t.
unusual just to fall into your profession for me I in fact wanted to be a lawyer from the time I had to do with seven years of ages but at the time that I went to UNI there were numerous legal representatives that the unemployment rate with law was so high that you had to do a double degree um so that was sort of 5 years of a double degree plus an extra year of law school and then three years practicing as a lawyer and I believed oh that sort of sounds like an additional 10 years so I in fact went and ended up studying organization at UTS so um comparable to a Commerce degree um however throughout uni I um I worked at an Italian restaurant and after that I tried to open an Italian dining establishment and to do that um I needed to get a loan with a NAB and really I required to pay back that loan when it didn’t exercise so um I I saw an ad in the paper and it stated do you want to be a stock broker and I believed oh yeah that sounds respectable yeah we’ll try we’re here we go and um you understand I was fortunate in that sense since I I do like the work I love having the ability to understand businesses and to work in a market where you’re constantly being able to keep up to date with what’s occurring on the planet what’s happening in terms of improvements in technology or biotechnology and science I believe is an amazing thing so I love to read it and I never have a scarcity of stories to check out when it comes to the marketplaces yeah excellent and in between transition from oh I might want to be a stock broker how did you become state inequities investment strategist how did that happen um existed.
did you work your method up to a particular position or did you simply apply and then start from there like how did that occur sure so um I guess when it pertains to the financing world you sort of start everyone starts at a base level and then you move into the area that you have an interest in my area of interest is constantly markets and I took the view that um you know when I began I didn’t wish to just um simply sort of I think sell something that I was initially associated with so I made a big effort to walk the walk and speak with talk which means anything that I was discussing I I made the effort to in fact trade myself or buy myself too and I began in financing with the view that you know in any occupation or in any occupation it normally takes you about two or 3 years of learning to comprehend the lessons involved and what was occurring in that kind of world so I I began an investment diary with the view that um you know I wanted to find out as much about investing as possible in a sort of 2 to 3 timespan so because timespan I sort of provided myself or I allowed myself the chance to lose money as I believed to myself for the two to 3 years um that the the goal wasn’t to make as much money as possible but the goal was to learn the skill of being able to make money so that I can use it for the rest of my life so that was an excellent duration for me and I I discovered a great deal of lessons I looked into basic analysis technical analysis understanding companies taking a look at market analysis I likewise looked at things like choices trading which is a lot more risky but that was a fantastic duration where I I sort of laid the foundation of going into Equity strategy which I actually do enjoy and the reason I delight in being an equity strategist is I love understanding cycles and how that influence on different organizations and the various.
